Review - Hope Is Love by Sylvia Hubbard

Hope Is Love

Summary:Meet Hope, but most people call her Jona. She was a person living in the world, but not living on the inside.

Bad things happen to good people and Hope was the person we lose in the system and she grows up just going from day-to-day trying to make a dollar out of the pennies she find.
But she’s smart on the street. She keeps to herself, but she’s just there. A body without a soul and she’s going nowhere.

Then meet James from LOVE LIKE THIS .

He’s one of the bad characters that once the story is over you really don’t give a fig about. Now he’s lost again and you’ll find him here in HOPE IS LOVE.

My Review:  This is the first novel I've read by author Sylvia Hubbard.  I enjoyed her characters and the story line in this novel.

Characters: Hope aka Jona is a mid thirty something woman living on the streets of Detroit.  Being homeless all her life had given her a very odd look  on life. She does not feel as if she could ever fit into a normal family life setting meaning house with walls, working machinery, owing a car, etc...
James is rich and enjoys dating married women even if its his brother's wife.  James is shot in the head and tossed in a dumpster to die.
Nicole and Ethan, interracial married couple. brother and sister in law of James.  Nicole is a kind and considerate. Ethan, loves his brother but can he forgive him for what he's done.
Monica: stirs trouble up with Jona and  having an affair with James.
At times I was a bit disturbed by Jona character. I was also taken by her immediate reaction to sexual encounters for someone who was a rape victim.  I liked  and disliked James.  The old James would of made me sick, but the new James is more compassionate.
Jona's father choice to live on the streets for LOVE (Jona's mother).  Sno'nuf shocked me because he was a millionaire.   Jona did not have a good education but she was able to survive from the skills that was taught by her father and friend Shadow.  Can a homeless woman find Love?  Is there a family feud between brothers?  Who wanted James dead?
Book Cover: Its a bit busy but good photo shots.
I enjoyed reading this novel and would definitely read other books by author Sylvia Hubbard.  This book sits on my book shelf   as a "A Darn Good Read." Erotic sex contents
