Book Summary: Aaron Jamieson aka Ace is living a
carefree life. He's good-looking guy with no problems attracting women. When a woman tries to ambush him with a pregnancy, he takes
off in the other direction. Responsibility as an option is something he learned
from his absentee father.
Talise Rogers has a bright future
ahead of her. She's pretty and has no problem catching a man's eye, which is
exactly what she does with Ace. Their chemistry is undeniable and their passion
explosive. Trapping Ace is the furthest thing from Talise's mind, when she
learns she is pregnant. She is determined
to be a good parent.
Ace is told by Talise that she suspects that she is pregnant. He is disgruntled.
Ace jumps to the conclusion that Talise is just like all the other women in his life. He is hurt and disappointed. Talise was the woman that won his Heart.
Talise is painfully hurting. She believed in her heart that she and Ace was in Love. She is devastated by his action.
How will the Jamieson family respond when they are told that Ace walked out on this woman. Will Ace upbringing be enough to steer him to make the right choice or will Ace decide to walk in his own dad's 'absent' footsteps?
My Review: I am enjoying the Jamieson Family Legacy Series. This is the second novel of the three part series. In this novel, the youngest brother known as Ace is the protagonist. The character is a middle aged twenty year old male, good appearance and physique. Ace outlook on women: Every woman tries to trap you with that "I'm pregnant" statement. Fortunate for him, the women that had come into his life, and done so were wrong, That is until his relationship with Talise.
The story line is centered around the protagonist outlook on women, responsibility and maturity. The growth development of the protagonist is steady and realistic. The author emerges the reader into the lives of the main characters, Ace and Talise while keeping readers entertain with the foundation of the Jamieson Generation.
My heart went out to Talise; kudos to her room mate, her sister was her life line and that stepmother need to cut it out while dad was only a phone call away and would hesitate to take a plane to go see about daughter. I'm not going to say much about that funny lady, Grandma Bebe now with her new sidekick,
Mrs. Valentine.
Kidd, Ace brother, is happily married and they are expecting their first child. This is a christian fiction novel minus the 'preachie' overtone.
The book cover definitely would have grabbed my attention. It gives you a hint of what you may think the book is about. It reads well as a stand alone in the event the reader is not aware the book is a series.
I am awaiting the last novel of the series. I must know how the author, Patricia Simmons going to sum up the elite Jamieson generation.
This novel sits on my book shelf as a Darn Good Read!!
Pat Simmons is a self-proclaimed genealogy sleuth. She is passionate about digging up the dirt on her ancestors, then casting them in starring roles in her novels. She has been a genealogy enthusiast since her great-grandmother died at the young age of ninety-seven years old.
She has won numerous awards for her previous novels and was voted the Best Inspirational Romance for 2010. She was also a nominee for the African American Literary Award’s best Christian fiction award. Pat is best known for her Guilty series. The Jamieson Family Legacy trilogy: Guilty by Association, Guilt Trip and Free From Guilt is a continuation of first three Guilty Series books and the of the story of the much-loved Grandma B.B character and her new sidekick, Mrs. Valentine. Pat and her husband live in Missouri and have two children.
